History
People That Care International Center began in 1982 as a community outreach program of Shady Grove Church, Grand Prairie, Texas. Today it is a separate, non-profit organization funded by private donations to minister to the poor and needy in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and beyond.

We are dedicated to providing the basic necessities of life on a long-term basis, and incorporating programs to develop healthy, self-sustaining communities on a local, national, and international level.

Services

Hunger Relief
Every month through our food pantry located in Grand Prairie, TX we help feed over 7,000 of our less fortunate neighbors, distributing more then 1,000,000 lbs. of food valued at over $250,000.00 every year! In addition, the PTC Center provides clothing, counseling, educational assistance and other valuable help to our neighbors.

Internationally, millions of complete meals are provided annually to countries around the world that are ravaged by hunger and starvation. PTCI partners with others to procure, to ship and distribute these meals.

International Children's Relief
48,000 children die from hunger every day around the world.

PTCI sends food staples, blankets, medications, and other necessities to provide relief to orphans and refugees in countries such as Haiti, Romania, Honduras, The Sudan, Afghanistan, Mexico and many others. PTCI also gives multifaceted support for these displaced children.

Disaster Relief
PTCI's is one of the first agencies “on the ground” with quick response efforts to bring relief in crisis situations around the world with the provision of food, clothing, shelter, medicines, medical care, and other basic necessities. We have helped during the disasters of Hurricane Katrina, the Tsunami of 2005, 9/11 and many others.

Medical Relief Teams
Doctors, dentists and other health care professionals volunteer their talents for short-term missions in underserved countries and provide a variety of basic medical, dental and surgical services. PTCI supports these teams with medical and dental supplies, pharmaceuticals and vitamin supplements.
